Case Study of the Emergency Medical Team Response in Mosul, Iraq
The overall goal is to undertake a case study to better understand the context of decision making and the effectiveness of using Emergency Medical Teams (EMTs) in the Mosul response. Focal areas for the case study will allow for the following: 1. Documentation of the decision-making process to implement EMTs for the first time in a conflict setting 2. Analysis of the EMTs outputs and outcomes in this unique context; 3. Lessons learned for other future conflict contexts in terms of sustainability, integration with Iraq’s health system, cost of EMTs and issues relating to humanitarian principles and perceptions
