This eLearning course is designed to equip learners with foundational knowledge on how to protect, promote, and support recommended infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practices in humanitarian settings during outbreak preparedness and response. It was developed by the READY initiative and the Infant Feeding in Emergencies (IFE) Core Group.

This course is designed for health and nutrition program managers, technical advisors, and clinical managers working in humanitarian settings.

- Explain how an infectious disease outbreak can impact IYCF practices in humanitarian settings
- Describe how organizations can lessen the impacts of outbreaks on recommended IYCF practices through proper preparedness planning
- Describe the recommended temporary feeding alternatives that can be used if breastfeeding is interrupted during an outbreak
- Summarize how to protect, promote, and support recommended IYCF practices in humanitarian settings during an infectious disease outbreak using a multi-sectoral approach
