LECTURE: The Humanitarian-Development Nexus

Speaker: Xavier Devictor, World Bank

The UN Secretary General’s report entitled One Humanity: Shared Responsibility – asks us to “transcend the humanitarian-development divide” and change people’s lives by moving from delivering aid to ending need. Displaced persons should not be seen as a humanitarian “burden”, but rather as a development opportunity. Panelists discuss concepts and actions that address the humanitarian-development nexus.
